Here’s a snapshot of Donald Trump’s standing amid the current U.S. government shutdown: according to a recent Reuters/Ipsos poll, his overall approval rating is around 42%, up a couple of points from earlier this month. Reuters Meanwhile, on the shutdown itself the public clearly assigns significant blame to Republicans and the president: about 67% say Republicans bear a fair amount or great deal of responsibility, and roughly 63% say the same of Trump. Reuters +2 AP News +2 So while Trump’s personal approval hasn’t cratered, the political waters are bumpy—the blame for the shutdown is disproportionately landing on him and his party, which could carry risk despite the seemingly stable headline numbers. Why do I care ? , SS payments a month. Polls aren’t worth anything. The people on the Government dole want all the goodies democrats have to offer. The people that are tired of supporting the ones on the dole want the Republican’s cure. Since the pandemic hand-outs, people have become dependent on them. I can’t help but wonder about all these protesters. Where do they find the time to protest? Don’t they have jobs or family lives? I have better things to do than shout out idiot mantras in a crowd. John

"If someone is truly a jerk, or truly is not deserving of any positive reply from you, polite indifference is the best response you can give. Do not insult. Do not slam. Do not follow the urge to be nasty. Simply be politely indifferent." –Brian Austin Whitney
