I've stayed out of this argument because I have egg on my face because I was a fan of Trump until now, I still agree with some of the things he is doing but I'm lost at other things he is trying to do, like bankrupt my home country. I compare him to Jahu in the bible or a bull in a China shop. When it comes to tariffs on agriculture products, I can see why we need a tariff to protect our food supply. Farmers in the South have a great advantage over farmers in the North, it is called climate. Your farmers can raise food a lot cheaper than we can because climate favours you. In some crops your farmers can get two or three crops a year off the same field, we get one, but in the meantime, we should not depend 100%on the US to supply our food, in times of drought the US will feed its own before feeding Canadians. As God has blessed the US with climate conditions, he has blessed Canada with other things that the US needs, therefore we trade. Canada is blessed with lots of water, minerals, oil, electricity, timber, etc. We don't charge tariff to you on those things, your president is doing that, the consumer pays that cost in the end. Aluminum takes a lot of electricity to make it, we have abundance of electricity, you do not, so you need this item, why make it more expensive than it needs to be by adding tariffs. Don't make sense to me but to Trump it strangely does, he doesn't want to buy it, he wants to annex the country to steal it. He wants everyone to play in his sandbox, bring all manufacturing into the US, let Canada be hewers of wood and drawers of water. Personal greed is bad enough but when it comes to National greed, that is what starts wars.
