It looks like a strike carried out by US forces on a boat in the Caribbean Sea - which the White House says killed 11 drug traffickers - violated international law. US forces destroyed a vessel which, according to Trump, had departed from Venezuela. He said the boat was operated by the Tren de Aragua cartel and was carrying drugs bound for the US. They could have easily stopped the boat and arrested the 11 crew members and investigated to find out more about the channels they use to distribute the drugs. Instead, the US military just blew them out of the water. On a full tank that boat could have travelled some 100-300 miles. Venezuela is 1,300 miles away from the US. What if they made a mistake and tourists were on board? Labelling people a terrorist does not make them a lawful target. You can’t just blow up ships in international waters. What if China would do that? Trump is the President of the United States, not the world. He can use the military on Americans and countries we are at war with, not ships in international waters. I think he crossed a line here.
