Marty...
Since liberal socialist democrat ideology is obviously light-years removed from anything "Trump", or anything Constitutionally American..., isn't it logical to conclude that the "derangement" is just for show; A distraction?
Radicalized Dem-wits can attack Trump with impunity, all in the name of "Equitable Democracy", and still maintain the facade of legitimate political discourse.
However, an errant lack of integrity and sincere conviction precludes a direct assault upon their true adversary... Primarily, the forthright morality and adamant rebellion against tyranny delineated in America's founding documents.
It's impossible for a socialist democrat to remain true to his cause, and plainly state his ultimate goal with the same breath. To do so would be an admission of treason and treachery. I think that there is some of that. I also think that it is a lot of decent enough people, who simply don't connect all the dots. I have some older(than me) relatives in a Midwestern farm state, who hate Trump to the bone marrow.. It seems to be a genetic hatred of all things Republican, rooted in past repub stances on farm subsidies. Dems were pro subsidy. Repubs were against. Repubs are bad. End of story. But oddly, these same rural folks are highly resentful of the Mexicans being bussed into their small towns to work in slaughterhouses and meat processing plants. The Mexicans have set up Mexican enclaves with Mexican restaurants, laundromats, etc., which the "locals" do not appreciate. And I ask one of them, "if you feel that way, why do you hate Trump so much? He is the only politician running that will speak out against unlawful immigration and it's effects on the country?" The answer that I got was "I just do. I don't want to talk about it." I responded, "Do you realize that the people that you are voting for are greasing these wheels, resulting in what you complain about?" The response I got back, "I said that I dont want to talk about it." That was that.
