I still don't get it. He told his supporters at the rally to walk to the Capitol. He said he would go with them. He wasn't allowed to. Secret Service took him to the White House. They had to use force. Trump didn't tell them to fight on video clip. He talked to them directly and they went to the Capital afterwards and did what he told them to: fight like hell.

Marty the only outlet I mentioned was German television. Which outlets do you think I follow when I'm in Germany?

Facts:
For whatever reason that Trump addressed the crowd near the White House and did not go with them to the Capitol....he was not at the Capitol.
He told them to "fight like hell" and told them to do it "peacefully and patriotically."
Gavin Newsome et al are telling people to "fight." No one is accusing them of inciting a riot because they used that term. They may be inciting violence, but the term is considered to be figurative.

The net of it:
Regardless of what you or I or German television may have thought was going on in Trump's mind (thought police) ....evidence is based on what actions that he actually took.

Had he been standing on the Capitol steps and said,

"Bust in and hang them all"....that would have been a criminal offense.
BUT...he was not there at all and said nothing like that and conversely told them to be "peaceful and patriotic."

Of course German TV and Rachel Maddow have never displayed "peaceful and patriotic" because it would undercut and un-fuel the narrative that sells their air time, to an unquestioning audience.

Facts are facts. What we may believe may or may not be.
