Glyn, Thanks for welcoming me to your group, I am so glad to meet you. I look forward to sharing ideas with everyone and being of any assistance that I may be to anyone.
I have been writing forever, my family has begged me to do something with it, however, I do it mostly, for my own personal therapy, if that makes any sense.
I am rarely able to sit down and write something, the words come when it hits me, so I have learned to always keep a pen and paper close by.
I am the one who has always been interested in those who write the
songs.
I'm looking forward to chatting with you and I am always looking for advise and ways to better my writing skills and to help others if I am able.

I wish love luck and good health; the LORD's prayer and Christian Science has been a helpful "goto" for all health concerns for me for many years!
I'm new and came here first to implore you guys to get rid of a damning negative series of posts against Paramount Music; they are in an old version of "Justplainfolks" so I cannot log on and defend a company in PMG Nashville that has been Good to/for me!

Turn on Compatibility Mode in your IE browser and the site will work just fine. The newest version of IE is not compatible with a large number of sites including many message boards. So they added that feature to assist.
As for Paramount, everyone including you is entitled to their opinion. In this case 99% of the feedback we've gotten about them has been negative dating back to the 90's. Some folks just getting started recording their music professionally see them as a good deal, but few who have experience recording and releasing music professionally see them in a positive light. Many folks have been fooled by the similar name they have with a legitimate Hollywood movie/tv studio to which they are not connected. Others mistakenly think they are special because they were contacted by Paramount in the first place not realizing that they usually contact anyone who copyright register music with the library of congress and are happy to take your money no matter how much or how little talent you have. They usually are not price or quality competitive with the overall marketplace for what they do either. Let us know in a few more years what you think in hindsight and with more experience in your career. I suspect you may be less enthused.

Hello!
So, it has been several years since I was on JPFolks...
Last time I was registered, I used an alias since I was around 13 or 14 and my parents would have killed me for being online! Despite being really young, everyone on this forum took my music seriously and helped me grow as a writer - and I am still writing today thanks to y'alls help.
Anyways, found myself in a writing rut lately and thought maybe it'd be a good time to get back on here and collaborate and make things fresh again!

Hello all I found this site a few days ago and am pretty excited about it.
I started playing guitar and writing music about 15 years ago but kind of gave it up when my daughter turned 4 because I wanted to spend more time with my family. Well when that daughter turned 10 she decided that she wanted to play and since then (about 15 months ago) music has became a main focus of my families lives again. The things that she has accomplished (including getting a standing ovation from a crowd of about 3000) never cease to amaze me. I have went from player to teacher/spectator and it has been an amazing journey.
Anyways, enough about me and my family. Great site I'm glad I found it.

Hi everyone, my name is Jason Carter I am a stay at home dad. I have been a songwriter/musician for 11 years now. I also have insomnia which kinda helps me write my songs. I came along this site why I was looking for a way to get my music heard. so far everyone here has been really nice and helpful. I have had some people tell me that I have talent I just can't seem to find or open the right doors to get my songs out there. I don't want to be the next big thing not looking to going on tour, or anything and if I could I would write and play music all my life for free!!! I just want to get paid for my songs for my family so they don't have to worry, and so my wife won't have to kill herself anymore at the factory where she works. All and all I'm not looking for money or fame, but I could probably live Happily just off of a quarter of what the big stars make.
