To some people that viewpoint relegates religious writings to being codes of ethics and not absolute truths dictated by a creator.
That's fine with me. The GOLDEN RULE is not only sensible. It is essentially Aristotelian & Mill-ish..
But Tony, for instance, would probably not be aligned with that suggested viewpoint.

As for me, I'm agnostic. Not only can I only say that I dunno whether religious writings are accurate and fact based, but I cannot with absolutely certainty say that anything that I did not personally witness is true. That's a lot of things.

Therefore, alas...onward through the fog....but never stop thinking.
