Tony,

That post, in all of our ramblings, is the first time that you have clearly and emphatically answered a question of mine. Thank you for that. On second thought, there was another instance where you did.

Your array of opinions are representative of the way that many people feel and it adds clarity to my vantage of the world to be be able to read them stated so clearly.

Be careful though, there are may people, some dangerous, who feel that you have no right to hold your opinions. I'm not one one of them.

Minorities go to where power is concentrated and amplified in order to overcome majorities and make the changes that they want. State Capitols, DC, the Supreme Court, the media. Sometimes justifiably, sometimes not so much. Allowing biological males to compete against biological females in high school and college athletics is one of the glaring not-so-muches.

Centralization of power and the resistance to it is probably the biggest battlefield in the "Culture wars." That issue festered and set the stage for the rise of Donald Trump (who proved to be kind of a nut job)...has continued to boil. Imho it is not Donald Trump that threatens "democracy." It is the degenerate behaviors within our constitutional republic that threaten it, creating a backlash and giving rise to sometimes dubious "strong men" who will "fix it" by imposing "law and order."

Civilization is a process, sometimes ascending, sometimes descending, sometimes both at the same time. The United States is in serious decline by most time-tested measures. Not the least of which is a NATIONAL DEBT that no one believes will ever be paid back. The problem is once a country has degenerated this much, the "fix" may be harder to live through than the decline.

For you the fix seems to be ARMAGEDDON and beyond. That's not a fix that I am in favor of wink

The above is excerpted from the Book of Marty. It is worth what you paid for it.

Code word: overlap.
