You're a good man Everette. And you probably would be religion or not.
For me, the problem occurs when I think where the information came from. If you've ever played the game of telephone as a kid, the message by the time it reaches the end of the chain is usually different, or not even close.
If you sincerely think about it, your faith is in man. You have faith that the men who wrote the bible, were A. honest, B. Not crazy, C. Accurate, D. Trustworthy, or my concern E. They wanted it to be true so much, that they believe it.
You have no way of knowing that what's written in the Bible is God's word, other than people telling you it is.
Unless you have a a recording of God saying "the Bible....yep that's my stuff...."
Faith in God would be easy, faith in man...well we know where that gets us...often.
