The BIBLE NEVER ACTUALLY SAYS "Keep your eyes on the Eastern Sky", but rather "as the lightening strikes from the East to the West"...
If I write this tune I will be taking "liberties" with the fact that "Keep your eyes on the Eastern Sky" isn't ever actually found in the word of God...
Why would this be an issue? You're writing a song called "Keep your eyes on the Eastern Sky". If it is in praise of God, He knows.
Maybe have a chorus that goes....
as the lightening strikes from the East to the West Keep your eyes on the Eastern Sky
BTW please change "If I write this tune" to "when I write this tune".
One time someone criticized one of my songs for not exactly using the Bible quotation. After some thought I responded quite seriously " God told me He had no problem with it"

Creators of music have a responsibility to their craft. When they have finished using all the notes and words, they must pass them down to the next generation with a simple request. “Use these to create new music.”...Steven McDonald
