Don't worry about the world ending today , its already tomorrow in Australia.
I'm not much into dooms day stuff. But its nice to know Jesus has a stable of white horses I'm obviously a pessimist lol...
But,
Am I the only one who thinks "Thanksgiving" feels kinda' strange this year?
I'm not saying we shouldn't take a day to reflect and be thankful...
I'm just already dreading the day after.
It's as if the entire world is suffering from some kind of bipolar disorder...
I remember when the majority of people used to look forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas. The Spirit of the season was contagious.
Now, it seems as if no one can remember why... I theorize that social media has alot to do with it.
There used to be mystery and hope with holidays. Now go on Facebook and thanksgiving unfolds in your face instantly, leaving nothing to the imagination .
It may also be that over time, all things change and die. Can Thanksgiving survive hundreds of more years?
I doubt football will exist in 200 years I don't believe most people truly understand just how sad those statements are. We are about to celebrate the beginning of the year 2025 "AD". Roman historians were notoriously tedious... Tacitus was no exception. That's not to mention the Jewish historian Josephus... First it's just an observation. Second, I know josephius, but what he does have to do with people losing interest and changing traditions? He wrote some historical facts about Jesus Thanksgiving and even Christmas are basically secular holidays. Some Jews celebrate Christmas, some Asians and Indians. Because it's more American that it is religious. Maybe that is sad, but I bet most teenagers have no idea what Thanksgiving really is. It's a day to eat. People talk about food for three days before. It is what is. My point was, thanksgiving is alot of work for people hosting it It may always exist cause people like to eat, but most traditions lose their punch over time. Sad? Maybe, but alot of things are sad. Hungry children and dogs living in the elements . Wars, disease, aging, sex trafficking, death, tsunamis....
