Semantics matter often.
I dont see choosing to believe in the Bible or driving your car as gambling.

Gambling is taking an asset that you possess and risking it against an outcome of chance.
The reason that it is considered "bad" can be seen in Texas homestead laws. Down here you cant take someone's house as debt or a lost bet or anything else. One of the reasons for that is that lost gambling debts that made wives and children homeless.
