No, I think the very definition of Christianity is to love one another, as yourself. And to become a good person, and to learn the difference between right and wrong, and try to emulate the life of Jesus. In fact, I know that's the point. HE said Love one another as yourself is as great as a commandment as loving God. Fail......
"You are not far from the kingdom of Heaven Joseph.....of....? But there's another commandment , no great or lesser, love others as you would love yourself."
I DONT think it's about trading bible quotes, and being mesmerized by the book, it's about life. Jesus was a worldly leader, whether or not HE is the son of God, is a matter of faith, will never be proven or disproven, although the burden of proof is on the statement maker. Nor will his return ever be waited on. How many people throughout the centuries have claimed to be the messiah? Many. Many mental health patients think THEY are the messiah...why would God do that to somebody?
And if Jesus came again, NOBODY would believe it. I can see it now, it's a political conspiracy!
And people would scoff and laugh at the cult that would be following Jesus. It would be on TV and the news, every day, and scientists would be expecting proof of all the elegant miracles, and there would be none, it would be all word of mouth. Just as seeing Elvis is.
And being an arrogant prick...not saying whom, God would no doubt, turn away from such an idiot.
You cant ask for no commentary, or counters, when you start a thread like this, you have to remember that not everybody believes, some like you and Everette are die hards, others are passive, some dont care to open their mouth either way, and others think it's a fairy tale,
That's life in a nutshell. No two people are alike, you cant expect a uniform statement.
Certain people think when they say something, or write something down, that that is all there is, they dont even realize that the topic itself owns to refute, .
If you dont believe, and you are a member here, are you supposed to read and not say anything? We have enough of that with songs, thats why nobody posts, nobody participates.
Religion is a controversial subject, so is the Bible, dont expect your magic words to astonish everybody else.
Im not sure what responses you are looking for? Oh what a wonder composition, you are one of the great seers, I have ever known, I NOW have no reservations, .... yeah right
If you post controversial things like religion and politics, expect refute, they have always ended in mud slinging on this thread, and probably on facebook too. ANd you know this, otherwise youd start cooking threads....
Either accepts not everybody agrees, or dont share anything.
Folks know who they are.
Completely missing the point as usual Dom! You've already made it perfectly clear that you refuse the Spirit of faith because YOU are not an idiot. Great Dom, now move on. You're the only person here that anyone truly argues with, and you wear that like a badge of honor! Go pretend you're my "alien X-wife", you should be really good at that! Or, better yet, why don't you go tell us what "a perfect world according to Dom" looks like on your "Crickets..." thread; Speaking of complete failures!
