I would point out that the entire reason Iran is a hostile nation is to be laid at the the feet of Britain and the USA. Its theocracy is largely a creature of their making

In the late forties, after years about 40 years of having their oil receipts and trade terms dictated to them by mostly Britain, who encoured and paid off Iranian elites to get what they wanted, an Iranian Prime Minister dared to nationalize its own oil industry...side note...this STILL GOES ON. Companies simply buy the people they need to decide in their favour

In 1951, after being invited in to help the situation, the US (which was seen as an honest broker because the USA traded on far better terms with Iran) and CIA and Britain and its MI6 (or whatever it was then) initiated a coup and gave their then shah more power.

They also financed and trained SAVAK, the Shah's secret police who regularly used torure and executions as a tool to make sure every citizen remained loyal...which in the end ensured te US and Britain continued to benefit from its interest in Iran

The Ayatollah Khomeini had been exiled for dissent against the Shah at first to Iraq, then to Paris and when the Shah left Iran due to civil unrest, and went to the USA for cancer treatment, the student population in Iran stormed the hated US embassy to hold it hostage for the shah's return to face Iranian jusctice.

If you read the accounts, this was a fluid time in Iran and Ayatollah Khomeini did not yet have full power, but he recognized its strategic value and used it to his advantage

Ever since, the USA has been the Great Satan and the USA has done what it can to counter Iranian influence outside of its borders

If you fully understand the situiation, the USA has taken sides in Islam's Great Schism...Sunnis vs Shias. It's analagous to taking sides in the wars between Catholics and Protestants. Saudi Arabia is a Kingdom but beholden to an orthodix form of Sunni Islam....and the USA's best friend in the region...and sworn enemies of Iran as a Shia based theocracy

Going to Tehran to sit down to talk reason and peace with Iran is going to have to undo an awful lot of damage from Trump back to Truman

Note God is not anywhere near this equation

This was all about greed and power and the evil man is capable of doing.

And just because evil men invoke the name of God to justify their acts does not mean God is on their side.
