He was quoting me, you guys have the quote buttons but yet you are the ones quoting the wrong people lol

Martin>. "If you are gambling, then you are betting an asset against chance. Stocks are gambling, just like roulette.
Particularly when money is pouring into the stock market with no true basis in assets or productivity...just money chasing and driving money."

If you have a method that has proven to be right say a modest 53% of the time. Nobody is God here, but then you are not betting against chance.... you are betting WITH probability.

100 games, win 53(53%) lose 47
a hundred dollars a game....

win 5300
lose (with service vig) 110 per game, lose 5170

profit 130

add zeros to those numbers and it goes up exponentially, and 53% is not asking the person to never be wrong, they are nearly wrong as much as they are right...nearly

In Blackjack its different, because I dont know that the next hand will win 53% of the time, its more of a flow, knowing when its flowing in right direction and not. But technically, you need to win one more hand than you lose in order to profit.

Betting on or against chance would be a coin toss. But Id feel better betting that the next 53 flips will be heads out of 100

I do know that it evens out over time....
