Actually, as I see it from what has developed here, writers and publishers are supposed to get their funds from the PRO, which apparently has not been doing a very good job of getting it into their hands in a fair and transparent way.


I don't think it is up to you at all to pay them any money directly...perhaps if the PRO wants to allocate fairly, playlists may be the way, though I have to think other ways exist.


This is why I asked about practices out there.


If an easy reporting\auditing\payment mechanism can be made to work, and the ultimate distribution was seen to be fair, I would think you would do your part to make it all happen.
