Actually 2 different people affiliated with orgs (one PRO and one Union) stopped by the boards to read posts recently (that's just the ones I actually know about) but declined to post because of the personal attacks and diatribes that were going on. Sometimes the regulars here forget that a lot of people stop in now and then without knowing the long histories and personalities. Our site has had a very good run as the most positive and constructive open message board in the music industry. In 2004, I am going to focus hard on eliminating the needless personal attacks, flaming and inaccurate claims made by people who are much more interested in causing harm and anger than being productive. Freedom of speech is not the same as freedom to anonymously attack or libel other people, companies or organizations. We usually do a good job of self policing this type of rhetoric, but hopefully all of us can improve and make this the true safe harbor for correct information and reasonable and honest debate in the music industry.
