Lol Brian,

I am not arguing against the "blanket" system of collection. I am speaking against the "handkerchief" system of distribution.

digital fingerprinting is not all that new, nor was it funded by PROs. The first system was developed by Alexandria, Va. based Relatable and their first contract was with Napster. This was the technology that the RIAA used to catch Newyorkfashiongirl.

Phillips electronics had a system up and running in 2001.

In Jan of 2002, SESAC signed a three year contract Audible Magic Corporation for their digital fingerprint tracking system for radio play.

None of these address in any manner a desire on the part of the PROs to attempt to find a more equitable system of distributing the funds collected.

That is my only point.

Have you ever worked for a company where at least once a month there is a mistake in your paycheck ... and every time, it is in the company's favor.

Honest mistakes happen both ways. When the little guy is the one always getting shafted, it is not an honest mistake. It is a systemic flaw that needs to be addressed honestly.
