I think I see something you may have missed.
I believe our discussion about what they are doing in Australia, combined with suggesting what - *might* be done here- has you assuming some things are already going on, when in fact they are not.
Nobody is being forced to submit playlists and such here...yet the venues are being forced to pay ASCAP, etc.. which is where the topic started.

The conversation led to that of ASCAP accountability as to where the collected money actually goes, which led to further ideas as to how the proper people might collect royalties due. (whether impossible or not).
So..there's not as much going on as I believe you interpretted, yet plenty going on.

By the way... I appreciate your passion for what you believe in. I don't have to agree with every aspect in order to respect the hell out of ya.
As you (or somebody) mentioned in a previous post, I'd personally love to hear from somebody who has received a royalty payment from ASCAP or BMI, etc... how much it is, and how large the body of work is that they have registered with said PRO.
As some may have properly assumed about me, I'm quite the anarchist when it comes to the government (or any other body) forcefully collecting money. I want to know where the money goes..every damned dime.
