Society is getting more confrontational, angrier, more competitive. We've swung away from the liberal, lessez faire, attitude of the 60's and 70's, through the "me first" 80's and early 90's up to this current social climate.

Political figures call each other liars and traitors. Talk shows become shout shows. People on the internet take things things personally which are said in general and respond with attacks. We can't control our diet so we sue the hamburger makers. We can't control our neighbors' hearts and minds so we accuse them of being demonic.

I never thought appealing for love, tolerance, and teamwork would become old-fashioned, but I guess it is.

The PRO's are playing hardball. Why shouldn't they? Everyone else does. The club owners are refusing to pay them. Why should they? Most of them aren't in it to be in the music business, they are in the booze business. If they thought mud wrestling would bring in a crowd, that's what they'd do.

I believe...no, I KNOW that creating a team and working toward common goals is far more productive than working against each other. The PRO's create ill will. The clubs fight them or go out of business. The musicians lose venues. The only ones winning are the lawyers.

I'm going to start writing music for people to fight by. I'll make millions.

You've got to know your limitations. I don't know what your limitations are. I found out what mine were when I was twelve. I found out that there weren't too many limitations, if I did it my way. -Johnny Cash

It's only music.
