Two Bucks a song !


So, let me get this straight...

If I get a gig in your town..and I'm gonna be doing 3 or 4 sets 10 to 12 songs a set, it's gonna COST me 80 to 100 dollars !

Well, my friend...if you call that "fair" in Australia then we have very different definitions of the word.

Unless of course you're gonna pay me 4 figures for the gig !
My guess is...you're not !

My example was not about a suit making anybody a millionaire...my example was very true-to-life as it's happenend to me thousands of times over the years..
Where I'll play a song people have not heard before and they will come up and ask who did it...If I'm gonna be charged to play the song then it's only fair that I get a percentage if someone buys the CD based on hearing me play the song.
I call THAT fair !

If we're gonna " I, Me, Mine", then I want mine too.

Or is it just greedy when I want to be paid fairly ?

Sorry Cobber....Nothing you or anybody else has said takes any of the stink off this...

I know you know what a load of crap smells like....that's what I'm getting from this.

fortunately, I don't have to deal with it..

Pity that some of you not only deal with it but find it to be acceptable.

I can tell you this...before I pay to play anybody's song I'll tell them to come and sue me or stuff it up their bunghole!

Suppose I play somebodys song and everybody hates it and leaves the joint.

Can I get money from the bugger for costing me a nights pay because of his shitty song ?

It's all so stupid...how did musicians exist for thousands of years without this nonsense...?
