Check the recent setlists from shows by Government Mule, The Allman Bros, Aerosmith and fer chrissakes The Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan...know what you'll find? Covers. If Dylan can play 'em so can I, if the bar ain't licensed for 'em that's not my problem, I'll play somewhere that is. Does this guy think he's getting better songwriters than Jagger and Richards? Better than Dylan? Good music attracts better crowds, and mixing a familiar song or two helps relax them enough to listen to my originals, we now get requests for our tunes...without audiences the whole point is moot isn't it?
