Hi, I have been a TAXI member for about a year now. Although I haven't gotten anywhere with my songs yet, I feel the investment is well worth it. I am a beginning songwriter and I have to say that the critiques I have received have been VERY helpful. The staff spends a lot of time giving their input, and they really are trying to help, IMO. I don't think it's a big deal to weed out the entries that don't provide critiques-- the words "NO CRITIQUES" are plain to see, and there are plenty of entries that do provide critiques. Also, I attended their TAXI Road Rally last November, -- 2 days of free songwriting workshops, advice from experts, demo critiques, and interesting panel discussions. I would value those two days at $300 alone. After a couple of years, I may decide TAXI is no longer worth it, but at this point I feel I'm getting a lot of valuable instruction. "Defeatist Pessimists and Rose Colored Glasses Optimists are lonely companions, victims even. Both ideologies imply predestined outcomes, and therefore breed inactivity in its victims. Inaction is the only sure way to lose at anything in life. All positive action guarantees at least a fighting chance." -Brian Austin Whitney
