The anonymous nature of TAXI's screening process bothers me too. You CAN request a particular screener for a CUSTOM critique- which cost you $10- and you can send that particular screener re-writes- and have a dialog... which is the only way you can 'pick someone's brain'.. but you never know who that particular person is.... You can also request NOT to be screened by a particular screener BY NUMBER.. if you feel that that person doesn't 'get your drift' or gives you some generic cirtique..

As far as Frank's beef about NO CRITIQUES... I think that's a valid issue. TAXI's line is that 'they're in the studio allready and they're in a hurry' or something like that...but the format at the Road Rally A&R panel, where industry big shots listen to demos and critique them, is strait from the Gong Show. The panelists raised their hands when they'd 'heard enough', which most often was during the first chorus. And they only waited that long to see if the song was going to 'pay off'. NO CRITIQUES means some anonymous screener will listen to 30 seconds of your song, and they don't want to be bothered telling you it's mediocre...
