Von,

Your own post contradicts itself. TAXI works with both Fox Sports and the Discover Channel. If they both licensed your music, then that proves that not all TAXI listings are ONLY looking for generic sound-alikes.

It's also misleading to make it sound like TAXI is at fault in the first place. They are simply bringing the market demand to their members. Not everyone has the time, history and connections that you have developed over the years. Most people also don't live in LA like you do, or Nashville or NYC (though most things seem to happen in LA and Nashville now unless you're in Theater or have advertising agency connections). If you lived in Des Moines and had a day job, could you actually access all the opportunities that TAXI offers?

As for your music, (FYI to anyone reading this that ONOFFON are previous JPF Award nominees), I am sure you know as much as anyone that when you do music outside the mainstream, CD sales suffer. Perhaps you guys have broken the code and you're selling 10K-20K albums a year, but most people aren't who don't do something in the mainstream. No one supports more diversity in music than JPF (we have 75 different genres in the awards this year.. the Grammy's give out song awards in 8 genres by comparison). But we also have common sense. The "money" is in mainstream. Art is NOT commerce. TAXI is a place for people seeking commerce, not validation for their art.
