Points well taken. But I do have to say that at least you get something for your money. You get quite a bit of web space to put your songs up, which in itself is very valuable to the non-web savvy artists.
But I do agree with the rest of your suggestions. Everything is a long shot. I have had songs that I plugged nearly get cut and I do have to say that THE ONLY WAY is by working hard yourself.
