There's no downside to being on Idol no matter what happens. By being seen and heard on even a single episode you are performing for the largest audience you'll ever be in front of. There's no downside to that. If you flop, that just means you're a flop. You still got in front of the masses which you never would have done on your own.

As for tonights results, I had no problem with it. I thought Alexis was in the bottom 3. Sarver will likely be next to go. I was disappointed to see Alison in the bottom 3. If I had to sign 1 artist from this crop, it would be her. She has nothing but upside. Adam can be a giant star with the right songs and production, but I still don't think he has the same upside potential as a 16 year old who sings that well. Danny is a great artist but I think he's similar to to the grey haired dude that won a few years ago (I can't even think of his name.. which sort of sums him up). What are they going to do with Danny that they didn't try to do with him? Right now Adam seems to be the winner. Danny will be seen as his challenger and there will be a couple close calls until it comes down to those two. Paula actually got that one right. Danny could get upset around the final 4 which happens some seasons, but beyond that, everyone else is simply cannon fodder while they get Adam out in front of the public for a season to build his recognition and following. It would be great if Allison caught on with fans and gave them a run. Lil Rounds blew her shot to rise to the top ranks with that hideous performance. Now we can expect to hear monotonous R&B performances from her week after week. Yawn.

No one will miss or think twice about Alexis. She was cannon fodder.
