excellant point-Ms Viks
you nailed it-Idol is just the beginning-and usually the end as well-even for those who WIN it....cause you dont become a great singer doing karoke...........you need strength and depth in songwriting........thats why most of these wannabe's disapear so fast after their 15 mins of fame on Idol.......Idol doesnt exist to find and launch great unknown talent......Idol exists for Idol-the producers-stars etc.........they do ya and dump ya after their have had whatever use they can make of you in any way........that said-it is in fact a good introduction to the hard realities of the music business.......one which most of these dreamers desperately seem to need.....last summer Nashville Star had 6,000 wannabe's lined up for auditions.............same deal-into the grinder they go.......I think these shows are possibly the worst investment of time a hopeful can make..........just my opinion

"Do not endeavor to be the smartest kid in a dumb class. Instead, you are better off being the dumbest kid in the smartest class, where you will be challenged and you will learn. If you aren't growing, you are dying." -Brian Austin Whitney
