The musical production of this is top notch. I think from a musical stand point this song could easily see radio play. I can enjoy it even without the lyrics which is the sign of a song that has potential, however to really get this one pitched you need to tighten up these lyrics. There needs to be some better examples as to why you are now waking up. Why do you feel this way? In fact one of the biggest problems I see is your title/hook is not relevant to what the song is about. It's not about your sweet kentucky rose it's about you realizing (waking up) to the reality that home is where the heart is. Very universal idea, but again the lyric needs to be tightened up and reworked. Good luck with it the music is worth working on the lyrics for.
