***MAINSTREAM CRAP!***

As an amateur musician/songwriter (actual musician), the "online" concept of collaborating via the "WWW" has always appealed to me... but, has always been very disappointing. I've always been at odds with the "industry" for various reasons, and most anonymous folks in the cloud have always accused me of not taking "songcraft" seriously enough. It seems to me, that chance of being "one in a million" who writes a hit was always enough to drive everybody just a little crazy. All the talk about "intellectual property" and "copyright law" turned me off, and all the salesmen with "inside lane information" pissed me off. I took my talent (for lack of better words) for granted because I was raised in a house full of musicians. I was discouraged from pursuing a "starving artist" lifestyle at a very young age. So, I've always been bewildered by the majority of people online who couldn't (or refused to) understand that I'm only out here to keep my chops up and have a little fun...

Now, it seems the industry and "online powers that be" have managed to discourage the musically inclined from even entertaining each other. Everything is politically divisive, God only belongs in church, the wisdom of the elderly doesn't appeal to the 20'something industry demographic, and AI can do it better anyway. So, what's the point of buying guitar strings if all that's left is the teenage romantic tragedy being propagated on TikTok...?

It's no irony that there hasn't been a truly original band since Led Zeppelin, and what passes for music today is just hammered re-sampled crap with a "hip-hop" beat.

It's truly sad...

Sorry, I'm just lost in lucidity...
If not for the catharsis of written complaint, I'd have absolutely no reason to be here.

If I can't be true to myself, express myself clearly and honestly, fearlessly showcase my talent/skill on a public forum that was designed for such, maintain my personal integrity as I interact with others of like inclination... Then please explain to me what the hell is so equitable and inclusive about songwriting?

From my perspective, "Songwriter Sites" have always been prone to clan mentality. Obviously the goal is to somehow reach the "upper echelon" of mainstream media influencers through lyrical rhythmic melody; But, first you must prove yourself worthy of liberal ideology and loyal to status quo...

In other words, you must be an easily pliable, morally neutral "Gumby" with no directional bias, who will only write songs about love and cartoonish introspective vaguery, or openly challenge and reject antiquated norms all in the name of... whatever the current "catch phrase" is.

Consequently, anyone who disagrees is considered politically divisive and disruptive...

...Then, there's AI
