Some years ago my doctor told me I was borderline Type2 and had to change my eating habits.
Read a book by Dr Jason Fung who traced the history of sugar and its effect round the world. Simple dietary habit change that involved no more added sugar and periodic\intermittent fasting (so no food, only broth for a day here and there......and all daily meals compressed into 8 hours...so daily brunch and dinner only...... worked for me)
Totally worked to both lose weight and lower my threshold so that Type 2 is under control...AND weight loss has been maintained easily. So no yoyo. Seems the body "resets" under that regimen...and no hunger or sweet cravings.
If writing ever becomes work I think I'm going to have to stop
