It's always an Honor when an Artist Records and Releases a Song that you've helped Co-Write. Artist Cameron Cummings just released HER TOWN, Produced by Kristen Parisi.

David Reuter Feel Free to Friend Me On Facebook .... !!!!
Her Town Brought her here to show her where I grew up Never woulda thought she’d fall in love So fast so hard at first sight I could see it in her eyes She heard church bells ring from a front porch swing N’ we window shopped ‘n bought a few things We walked we talked all day long Thought she left guess I was wrong Kickin’ myself askin’ why the hell did I ever let her Go ‘n leave more than a memory all over forever Like a ghost that haunts every place I go Showin’ up to show me what I already know Gettin’ over her ain’t as easy as it sounds Might be my home but now it’s her town yeah it’s her town We carved our names in a heart on a dogwood tree Hung our jeans on branch when we swam in the creek Held hands held on all night long I was a goner then she got gone Kickin’ myself askin’ why the hell did I ever let her Go ‘n leave more than a memory all over forever Like a ghost that haunts every place I go Showin’ up to show me what I already know Gettin’ over her ain’t as easy as it sounds Might be my home but now it’s her town It’s her back roads where the corn grows Her dusty fields where the wind blows Her sunrise where the rooster crows Her riverbank where the river flows Her moon light where the moon glows Her thunder storm where the thunder rolls Every square mile every square inch Is painted with her fingertips Kickin’ myself askin’ why the hell did I ever let her Go ‘n leave more than a memory all over forever Like a ghost that haunts every place I go Showin’ up to show me what I already know Gettin’ over her ain’t as easy as it sounds Might be my home but now it’s her town It’s her town Parisi, Reuter © 2026

Kay-lynn Carew (THANK YOU FOR ASKING)
Her Town
Brought her here to show her where I grew up Never woulda thought she’d fall in love So fast so hard at first sight I could see it in her eyes
She heard church bells ring from a front porch swing N’ we window shopped ‘n bought a few things We walked we talked all day long Thought she left guess I was wrong
Kickin’ myself askin’ why the hell did I ever let her Go ‘n leave more than a memory all over forever Like a ghost that haunts every place I go Showin’ up to show me what I already know Gettin’ over her ain’t as easy as it sounds Might be my home but now it’s her town yeah it’s her town
We carved our names in a heart on a dogwood tree Hung our jeans on branch when we swam in the creek Held hands held on all night long I was a goner then she got gone
Kickin’ myself askin’ why the hell did I ever let her Go ‘n leave more than a memory all over forever Like a ghost that haunts every place I go Showin’ up to show me what I already know Gettin’ over her ain’t as easy as it sounds Might be my home but now it’s her town
It’s her back roads where the corn grows Her dusty fields where the wind blows Her sunrise where the rooster crows Her riverbank where the river flows Her moon light where the moon glows Her thunder storm where the thunder rolls Every square mile every square inch Is painted with her fingertips
Kickin’ myself askin’ why the hell did I ever let her Go ‘n leave more than a memory all over forever Like a ghost that haunts every place I go Showin’ up to show me what I already know Gettin’ over her ain’t as easy as it sounds Might be my home but now it’s her town It’s her town Parisi, Reuter © 2026

ok, I like the premise of "might be my home, but it's her town".... I wanted to hear more about what is the metaphor about?
That third verse(bridge?) had so my rhymes in it... might be a little much. (less is more)
I don't mind a song being wordy, but each line has to have a reason to be there instead of just repeating the same feeling.
You have to either make the listener care about who you're talking about, or be able to put themselves in the song.
Make sense?
p.s. is that "your" melody?
