I started this song 25 years ago, found it yesterday, wrote the last verse and put a male voice on it (cus I only sing "girl") Literally it made my husband cry (he hadn't heard it before)... well actually, I had to get a kleenex too... I'm so dorky. https://suno.com/s/KPghzOzTaV2l2Nf5

This is a beautiful insight of a life's journey. What about a mention of a pastor (or similar) in the final verse? Either way. Just a thought. I really like this one, Kay-Lynn.
Peace,
Dave

I could have put a pastor in, but then it would lose it's intimacy ......... thank you very much for listening.... I could still tweak some things, but I think it turned out better than even I expected.

Kay-lynn, I'm a sucker for poignancy, and that's a truly lovely song. Very moving.
It reminded me of a friend who told me a few years ago that her last memory of her dad (she was about 5) was when he was walking away from the house after a bitter argument with his wife. My friend was clinging to his leg begging him not to go. (And of course, when she told me her story, I was instantly reminded of that song by - I think - Wayne Newton, 'Daddy, Don't You Walk So Fast'.)
Honour the Earth. Without it, we'd be nowhere.
Life is too important to take seriously.

I’d keep religion out of it , that’s a real good song

I saw God Today , have a beer with Jesus , it works but not in this song , its a conversation, like Cats and in the cradle , which was a killer song
