I have no idea....better?...certainly different. As I admitted, not a country music fan so don't know how it sounds vis a vis modern audience
But what I really like is seeing 3 line verses and a simple structure ..
If writing ever becomes work I think I'm going to have to stop

IMO...
The ultimate payoff in the song is to find "higher ground." To my ear, that's too vague. "Higher ground" is not enough to find...imo.
The song canters along with a pleasant melody, but the singer seems to be in an emotional no-mans-land singing about something better...maybe.
One person's opinion.

But for what purpose , you can't pitch it . You can now with live players . It's a good song . tuff biz on pitching. I'm not a publisher , they hear things different than songwriters . I've must of heard this a 100 times , songwriters says the songs great , then the publisher says pass

It's a good song . tuff biz on pitching Universal has cut a deal with SUNO. My guess is that neither one of them want to chance what a judge and jury are going to come back with. If the courts went "fair use," the labels would be doomed. If the courts went infringement, SUNO would be out of business. And they both know AI is inevitable. It may be rocky, but I think that they will map out a relationship and in a year or so...these AI songs will be pitch-able under certain circumstances. And all the robots will be laughing and getting drunk.

Maybe them robots will steal your job , lets see if your laughing then. I kinda doubt Nashville will let that happen . but who knows

I kinda doubt Nashville will let that happen . but who knows I don't think that people's suffering is funny. I don't think that people being displaced by machines is funny. My work has already got the robots coming for it. Architecture is a sitting duck for the robots. I dont see how "universal income," is ever going to work. But, I am certain that all of these things are inevitable (except for universal income), and the best anyone can do is look at the future for what it is and try to find a place in it.

Back to music , I' don't think Nashville will let that happen , meaning publishers taking AI songs, publishers would be hit with 5000 songs a day that took a penny to make , Doubt it. of course ya never know .

Ben. I think that it is a safe bet that it is inevitable. Publishers want to confidently own the rights to song. Otherwise someone can file a suit against them, claiming rights to a song that they never could foresee...and have an investment in. And their clients are surely saying..."dont bring us a problem." But that will get worked out and publishers will then take any money making opportunity available to them....AI or otherwise. Ultimately, as a group, they arent going to go broke to show solidarity with musicians. I give that a year or more to happen. Watch SUNO and WARNER MUSIC GROUP. They appear to be paving the way to the new realities. FROM GEMINI
In November 2025, Suno made a landmark deal with Warner Music Group (WMG).
This agreement was a major turning point for the music industry, as it officially ended a long-running copyright lawsuit between the two companies. As part of the settlement, Suno and Warner moved from legal adversaries to strategic partners.
Key Details of the Deal The partnership is designed to move Suno toward a "licensed" model of AI music. Here are the highlights:
Artist Control: Warner's artists (which include names like Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, and Charli XCX) have the option to opt in to allow their voices, names, and likenesses to be used in AI-generated songs on Suno.
New AI Models: Suno committed to launching new, licensed AI models in 2026. These models will eventually REPLACE the older versions that were the subject of the original copyright dispute.
Revenue Sharing: The deal establishes a framework to ensure artists and songwriters are compensated when their work or likeness is used.
Songkick Acquisition: In a surprising move as part of the deal, Suno acquired Songkick (a live music and concert-discovery platform) from Warner Music Group. Suno plans to use this to bridge the gap between AI music creation and live fan experiences.
What about other labels? While Warner was the first major label to sign a comprehensive partnership and settlement with Suno, other "Big Three" labels had different paths:
Universal Music Group (UMG): While Universal settled a similar lawsuit with Suno's rival, Udio, they remained in litigation with Suno longer than Warner did. However, recent reports indicate they are also in active licensing talks.
Sony Music: Sony has generally maintained a stricter legal stance, continuing to pursue litigation against several AI music startups to protect their catalog.
Would you like me to look into how these new "opt-in" features for artists will work for Suno users?
