I am just finishing the lyrics to a song that I am going to produce with SUNO...in multiple genres. I'm creating this thread as a place to collect informative videos about SUNO which will do 99.9% of the musical production.
Caveats: Anything growing wild on the internet could be full of bad facts. The legal and logistical wheels are still grinding towards a final outcome. The law is so screwy that nothing is ever final until the next court decision.
Yet, Im going to try and learn something useful.
A special request...If all you have is an uninformed and vaporous "2 cents" please dont cloud the output here by posting it. OTOH, if you can post something informative from a reasonably legit source...please post that.
A person may view a handful of prompts as "human authorship" regarding ownership of a resulting musical track...but SUNO and the US GOV, may not. It seems that SUNO defintely does not. The song/sound/"content" exists in a form only because of their "robots"
I've written some lyrics. I plan to "prompt SUNO to create"...
a blues track with male singer a country track with female singer a track that is Billie Eilish-ish.
In an imaginary universe, Billie Eilish could hear the song, like it and want to cut it. But SUNO has retained full rights to all of the "content" by their TOS.
SUNO could step in and negotiate everything regarding Billy Eilish's execution of the song. They could cut a deal and make money releasing it to airplay and selling t-shirts and ball caps with the title on it...
and owe me nothing. Not even the recognition that I wrote the lyrics.
I'm not sure what is true, but I suspect that fighting them over it would be futile.
I guess you could worry about that if you made a 100k on a AI song .Then your ducks better be in order with a lawyer . Who is exactly is going after you with 4 views on forums ? In an imaginary universe, Billie Eilish would cut it , that is imagery . She writes and producing her songs with her brother. maybe rules change and publishers take AI songs , for now no they don't at least in Nashville . I dunno know about the pop world of publishers . I would not mind a 100k problem with whoever. And how would you make that 100k I guess if one went viral and Adsense money. I guess it could happen with a Hail Mary of luck , like lottery winners

We’re all built from the same dust and dreams, Different roads, but the same means.
Life is complicated enough without getting involved with AI, so I think I'll stay clear, use a demo service where I'll get a work for hire contract as a 100% owner of the song. Or just not bother to write at all.
My personal plan is to write, use the hell out of AI and not worry about who owns what. Just enjoy the output.
It's a hobby. If I worry about it, nothing significant is ever going to happen monetarily. If I don't worry about it, nothing significant is ever going to happen monetarily.
I feel comfortably certain that a meteor is never going to crash through the roof of my house, also. If something did, that would be some degree of recognition that I would have gotten with SUNO where none was ever possible without SUNO.

You have no choice publishers don't take AI songs . I guess you could use Suno as a demo to yourself and then have session players duplicate it. Suno is not complicated . AI makes the great promt . wa la in 7 seconds. I think its already past complicated by now , Adjust or sink

Publishers cant take AI songs because they can't be certain that they own the rights.
SUNO has cut a deal with WARNER MUSIC GROUP. There are obstacles to overcome yet in that partnership, but they will be overcome. When UNIVERSAL and SUNO work those obstacles out, Publishers will start taking AI songs under prescribed circumstances. Inevitable.
SUNO has an old version "out there"...but in order to move forward and be compliant, "new" 2.0 SUNO trains on artists who opt in and creates license models for artists who use the newly trained SUNO as a tool SUNO will have tiered membership $$$ and go public at a huge multiple
as will other new AI content publishing tools
Current AI models have proved the concept works and machines can be trained like SUNO says...to understand music. Now the legal system is catching up
New "compliant" SUNO trained on licensed content. Old non compliant SUNO out there and will live on somewhere somehow
If writing ever becomes work I think I'm going to have to stop
Well if it goes public in stocks ,invest $1000.00 in it. My dad hated cigrettes , cuz it probably killed him . But he made money off tobacco stocks . I asked him wtf you hate cigs , Yeah but tobacco companies aren't going anywhere . pretty smart

I'm not really , I'm out of that game, it's to combative AI or not. I think it's even harder now getting an outside cut . but it happens. its like it aways has been , it be like hitting the lottery

lol oh yes retired...while tryna hit the youtube lottery. as you know its all about work. In fact the harder worker you are, the less talented you can be.
Making money in music is not impossible, but its not going to come easy. Put a video ujp and boom your a star... hell no
there are grammy nomiated, global touring artists who have videos on youtube with 200 views.
A viral video, something that at least brings people to your channel gives you a theortical chance that they may notice some of your other videos.
this woman has 15 million views... i wonder if she made any money, two guess first dont count. Maybe has gotten some checks from youtube.
if she had presented the viewers with other videos or other content, she may have had something.
i agree total bullshit gets viral status, thats cause the average person is not interested in your career. They are in it for themselves. something funny, stupid, people pass this [naughty word removed] around on facebook and at work platforms, they can get unlimited views
if thinking like a marketing buff, thise viewers could be potential customers. Maybe make a song thats rediculous, i mean yours are already, but INTENTIONALLY make one, try to go viral and then back end them with your other [naughty word removed]
one thing fior sure withoout viewers/audience theres nothing to be had
My songs are not ridiculous, Got some good stuff . I'm not making a toliet vid. Just because you won't walk in a studio . So you demean anybody trying. So you push buttons , thats it
Thats a good song , it's just tuff trying to figure out robots on Youtube . at least I try . it's hard man . Them fuking robot singers.. Rusty Throaty or what ever that robots name is

For the last few days, I havent seen any posts from you...and all of this category of silly sh+t went away...as a direct result. Additionally, there were some active threads where adult opinions were exchanged about songwriting without anyone writing a grade-school level insult. Kay-Lynn has become a very productive catalyst for a new and better atmosphere.

Don't screw that up.
My offer still stands, leave the site. This thread was another "hey, look how smart I am, Im marty" thread. As if you are the only one capable of discerning if something on youtube is good or not. Its the same in every other topic and your main problem, you think you are smarter and more logical and rational than anyone else.
Heres the truth...NOBODY gives a [naughty word removed] what you think or say. No matter how much attention you get or create for yourself its still garbage.
Leave the site, youve already lost your diginity, i dont know whats left.

Well,
For you there is a very simple fix. Between now and 01.01.2026, get 4 more from this universe of "NOBODYS" to state that they want me gone from here...and I will be gone. If you are able to do that, I'll probably take a breather from songwriting forums, and then later on, go back and ask to join the one that had the sense to ban you. There are 10,579 NOBODYS viewing GENERAL DISCUSSION right now.
You have Rob. Just 4 out of 10,579 and I leave. You are always speaking on behalf of the thoughts of others. If you have that influence...turn them up.
Otherwise, no promises.
I'd suggest that you and Rob put your heads together on this, but alas, you have insulted him with childish nonsense too many times.
