Thank you for being very gracious Marty...........my daughter's name is Kate and when I first wrote this song she was very upset because she thought I killed her in the song on purpose!!.... She's 32 now! She never forgot.
oh and p.s. I didn't MEAN to kill her, the song just wrote itself that way hhaha

oh and p.s. I didn't MEAN to kill her, the song just wrote itself that way hhaha I didn't pick that up when I read through it. Now I see what "brush of wings" meant. That's wierd Kay-lynn. Re-write and dont kill her. That upends the loveliness of it. Random mothers wouldnt hear it and bask in their relationships with their own daughters. They'd go... F' this. I'm outa here. Your daughter was right.

ahahahh I understand Marty, I told you I didn't MEAN to!! She's trying to tell her mother (me) not to be afraid, cus I'm literally afraid of heights. so in the end, she's going to the place that scares us all and tells her, don't worry, you don't have to be afraid.

ahahahh I understand Marty, I told you I didn't MEAN to!! She's trying to tell her mother (me) not to be afraid, cus I'm literally afraid of heights. so in the end, she's going to the place that scares us all and tells her, don't worry, you don't have to be afraid. My take was that it was an adventurous young girl, who loved and was loved by her mom. She was always wanting to be free to "spread her wings and fly." That deserves a happy ending where she leaves the nest for a wonderful future. A smoldering corpse at a crash site doesn't work for me.
