https://suno.com/song/47491af7-5a7a-45f2-8704-eb241546b203Not so dark as usual , could work to sing Verse 1 Preacher drives a Cadillac, tithes pay the note, Choir sings hallelujah while the lights stay low. Poor man’s praying for a miracle, bills past due, He says “Lord, I’ll give you Sunday, but Monday’s on you.” Chorus ‘Cause God’s always broke in a rich man’s town, Holes in His pockets where the blessings fall down. They sell salvation with a smile and a quote, But love don’t pay the rent — and God’s always broke. Post-Chorus But He still loves the lost and the lonely, Still hears every prayer we spoke, Still gives it all — even when He’s broke. Verse 2 Cross on the steeple got gold leaf paint, Hospital prays before they hand you the claim. Angels on credit, demons on loan, Heaven keeps calling but there’s nobody home. Chorus Yeah, God’s always broke in a world gone blind, Faith gets pawned for the dollar sign. He gave us the truth, we sold what He spoke, Now we’re cashing His checks — and God’s always broke. Post-Chorus But He still loves the lost and the lonely, Still hears every prayer we spoke, Still gives it all — even when He’s broke. Bridge Maybe grace is a currency we don’t understand, Worth more than silver, can’t fit in our hands. But we keep countin’ what we can’t own, While the poorest heart sits on the highest throne. Final Chorus / Outro God’s always broke in the land of gold, Still healing the lost, still saving souls. If heaven had a wallet, it’d be filled with hope — But hope don’t spend easy… and God’s always broke. Post-Chorus (Final Fade) He still loves the lost and the lonely, Still hears every prayer we spoke, Still gives it all — even when He’s broke.
We’re all built from the same dust and dreams, Different roads, but the same means.

Final Chorus / Outro God’s always broke in the land of gold, Still healing the lost, still saving souls. If heaven had a wallet, it’d be filled with hope — But hope don’t spend easy… and God’s always broke. That's so cold that I had to go put on a sweater to finish reading it. My cat was next to the computer monitor and he started trembling, because he felt...wait for it...the same shiver. Marty

Interesting lyric ya got there. Sounds like a soundtrack for a dark movie... (which is not necessarily a bad thing) 4 min is a little long, but since I don't think this was mean't for radio, doesn't matter.
Is this your lyric and your melody, or is it an AI melody?

No thats how I do it now . Use AI as a demo . See if it's worth cutting myself , Yeah I use AI as an assist on lyrics , its basically a cowriter , each song takes about 3 hours . Naw it's not radio , Nashville would never say Gods broke , but I can. I don't pitch anymore , I could careless what Nashville thinks

Why its true , its 38 degrees here That shatters my illusion of you always at the beach on a surf board. As for the song, Its harsher than what I would write. Nonetheless, your songs almost always offer something to think about.

Nope California beaches are too cold to swim in . The sunshine state is an illusion . it's just an out of the box idea on Gods broke. all we got in California is over priced homes and people struggling . Unless you're a >dot com hero in Silicon Valley . there knocking down the bucks. Nashville artist would never sing that, it ruin there fan base
