I am curious, how many versions of your songs do you make before you find the one you keep? I usually go through 30-50 versions to get as close to what I want as I can. I am the same way. I used up all of my monthly credits in Pro writing 15 songs. I have a sound in my head for each song and I tinker with it until I get one I like. I change the key, tempo, time signature, vibe/feel, and instrumentation. I also tinker with the lyrics adding or reducing vocalizations or rewriting because I don't like the way it plays out in recordings. I have spent hours working on just one song. And that is after I've spent a considerable amount of time writing it. I find myself getting up and walking away from one multiple times before I settle on something. I don't know how that parlays in other people's perceptions of what I'm putting out. But I'm making the music I always envisioned. That makes it all worthwhile for me personally.
