This was inspired by a recent interview article with Alice Cooper. Over-the-Counter RockstarThe 70's and 80's are basically a blur How I made it this far I'm really not sure The Rocker's life the one made of dreams came crashing down the more I aged it seems My hearing's shot my joints are stiff sometimes I play the wrong damned riff I stopped drinking Whiskey, vodka and gin There's still drugs backstage but now it's ibuprofen Sex and drugs and rock and roll Forget the first two I'm too old I can still seduce my fans but a nap is certainly in my plans I'm almost blind from all the lights my pills tell me if it's day or night I stopped smoking bags of pot There's still drugs backstage but now it's Icy-Hot Live a life of excess Live the Rockstar dream Just make sure you're living Near a Rite Aid or Walgreens I've looked life dead in the eye Laughing through all the tears I've cried Some days I wonder why I try then I hit a perfect chord
