I disagree with your conclusion. I say the resposibilty to make something UNCOPYABLE is the authors. If someone can copy it and does, that's fine up to the point that they gain some material profit, at which point they should pay. I think it is MUCH more realistic to think of it as EARN FOR PERFORMANCE, EARN FOR DISTRIUTION OF A PRODUCT WITH A GREATER VALUE THAN CAN BE COPIED, OR LITIGATE AGAINST THOSE THAT profit FROM RECREATION, or find another way to earn.

I know it is not a popular concept because so many poeple think that they should be able to create something ONE TIME and earn from it forever. (or I guess 70 years past death?) I say Once you put something out there the only ownership you have is YOUR VERSION of it,

I just think the WHOLE thing needs to be rethought.

IF someone could explain HOW to regulate it, OR HOW it makes sense to propose ownership of something as common as WORDS IN A SONG!

I often write songs that contain a cliche, DO I OWN them if they were public domain when I used them, and then I copyright the song... and if someone else copies my work In whole or in part, what is the RIGHT thing to do about the RIGHTS???
