It takes one flick on the trigger of a gun to take someone else's life and a life time of healing for the relatives that have been left behind. Life is precious and yet you take someone else's life as if it was worthless You've crossed the line you have committed the ultimate crime You steal someone else's life away as naturally as sitting down to your evening meal.
Chorus
Heated arguments end with the sound of a shot gun blast Drive by shooting's ends with another innocent life Another child lies dying in his mother's arms Clean the streets rid them of guns, before another reckless person takes another one of our sons
The darkness has overshadowed the light, what have you succumbed to? Where in your mind do you find peace of mind when you commit such a crime? What were you thinking and feeling, when you pulled the trigger of that gun? Surrender yourself, there are only so many places you can run to and hide. Lay your guns down, wash the blood from your hands and turn your life around.
