Country Song (Female Vocal) "You Better Love My Mama and My Dog" Copyright(c)2006 Lynn R. Orloff
Mama has been with me from the time that I was born, She stood beside me through the thick and thin, Daddy died when I was young, it broke her heart and mine, But mama's love was strong and didn't end.
Whenever I was feelin' down, she knew just what to do, One day she said she had a big surprise, She'd found a mongrel runaway and laid him on my lap, I melted when I saw his big brown eyes.
1st Chorus Oh you better love my mama and my dog, If your intentions are to make this house your home, It's not just one, but three of us, So go ahead and make a fuss, But you better love my mama and my dog!
It ain't so bad since mama likes to do the cookin', And my dog, he eats and sleeps and guards the house, Their address has to be the same, if we're to share a same last name, There's room for four of us on my old parlor couch.
Well my mama's gettin' older that's for certain, And the whiskers on my dog have turned to gray, You can come and try to flatter me with flirtin', But my mama and my dog are here to stay.
2nd Chrous Oh you better love my mama and my dog, And that's a given if you want to settle down, It doesn't matter how you feel, You see we're all a package deal, So you just better love my mama and my dog!
