FLIGHT 93 (THEY DIED FOR ME) By Jim Bearden (Intro by Alan Jackson) Copyright (c) 2002
INTRO: Where were you, when the world stopped turning, on that September day?
VERSE 1: On September 11, a day that all of us will remember forever, Two very different kinds of people suddenly came together. There were some who thought that their cause was so right, they'd send innocent people to their graves; And some who decided, when that became clear, to risk their lives, so others were saved.
CHORUS: There are things that I would die for, but there are none that I would kill for; And that's a difference that some people just don't see. And though I was far away, all men are brothers, and I can say: When they gave their lives on that dark day, they died for me.
VERSE 2: Without those cell phones, we might never have known what they did, and what they knew; And without them, they might never have known to do what they would do. They found that trying to save their own lives would mean that others would be lost So they decided to risk it all, even knowing what it might cost.
CHORUS
BRIDGE: So they rushed the cockpit, they did their best, and though they made a giant hole, We'll remember them all as heroes, and their final words: "Let's roll!"
CHORUS

"The standard by which I now measure the things in my life is the following: If I was on my death bed, or if I knew I had a short time to live, would this issue be important? If the answer is no.. I don't sweat it at all. If the answer is Yes, you better believe it goes to the front of the order of today's business!" -Brian Austin Whitney
