I’ve roamed the world from time to time To see what I could see And all I ever want from life Is to grow a money tree A tree where all the leaves are gold That sprouts ten-dollar bills The branches made of penny rolls And a trunk of solid sil-ver A cure for all my ills
I’d water it most carefully And give it lots of light I’d fertilize it lib’rally With TV ev’ry night I’d prune it when I needed change But let it grow quite tall And never once would I complain At rakin’ leaves each fall, no I’d not complain at all
A money tree A money tree With fives and tens to pick for free A little bit of seed is all I need To grow a money tree
And ev’ry year at harvest time The seeds I’d gently tend They sure would make the nicest gifts To give to all my friends So if you get one in the mail You’ll know I’ve had success Treat it well and never tell The folks from IRS, Oh That is my one request
Yeah, a money tree A money tree With fives and tens to pick for free A little bit of seed is all I need To grow a money tree
So here’s my answer if you ask Just where my money goes I’m planting coins around the world To see if they will grow My quarters went to Florida My dimes to Tennessee The rest went to the IRS In Washington, DC, Oh And there’s none left for me

"The standard by which I now measure the things in my life is the following: If I was on my death bed, or if I knew I had a short time to live, would this issue be important? If the answer is no.. I don't sweat it at all. If the answer is Yes, you better believe it goes to the front of the order of today's business!" -Brian Austin Whitney
