Hi Samuel, thanks I really do like and beleive in this song We've spent a lot in demoing it over the years thanks for your comments Ande The version I like best is the one preformed by Brooks. I liked the vocal on all of them but that version seemed to hit the balance that I would pitch. Pitch all of them because it clearly shows the song in various "colors". You, or someone, must really like this to do three demos.
It has a fine melody; and for criticism, I would have to say that the first verse is a little weak in that it is not particularly inventive and it didn't evoke an emotional response in me. The chorus held my attention but after a few times hearing the word "eventually", my mind started working it and it started to sound odd to my ear. The second verse seemed to strike, for me, the core of the song and that was when I could connect with the song on an emotional level. I liked the bridge and it help keep the emotional "honesty" alive. I can't fault any of the production and I would not be surprised if this showed up on a major artist album or on a movie score.
