Ande, Great song - both, very nice arrangements. The "Pop" version with Alex was very enjoyable, especially in the Chorus section with the excellent vocal harmonies, although in comparison, I didn't enjoy the verses as much, likely just a style issue, because it sounded a bit too "R&B-ish" to be pure Pop, at least to my ears. After the Pop version, I heard the Adult Contemporary version with vocalist Dave Brooks. I honestly enjoyed that version even better, if not MUCH better! I believe the song's message lends itself well to this slower moving 'ballad-like' pace and in my opinion, the minimalist piano accompaniment adds perfectly to the mood portrayed by the lyrics. Again, both versions have their merits, but in my book, the Dave Brooks version produced by Denny Martin is the real "charmer". ![[Linked Image]](http://www.justplainfolks.org/ubb/smile.gif) No wonder it won 1st place Adult Contemporary Song from the Austin Songwriters Group! ![[Linked Image]](http://www.justplainfolks.org/ubb/wink.gif) Best regards, Michael Borges [This message has been edited by Michael Borges (edited 10-26-2003).]
There's nothing remarkable about it. All one has to do is hit the right keys at the right time and the instrument plays itself. -- Johann Sebastian Bach MichaelBorges.comLicenseQuote.com

"Defeatist Pessimists and Rose Colored Glasses Optimists are lonely companions, victims even. Both ideologies imply predestined outcomes, and therefore breed inactivity in its victims. Inaction is the only sure way to lose at anything in life. All positive action guarantees at least a fighting chance." -Brian Austin Whitney
