thank you sub,
I appreciate what you wrote about eventually

It's been cut a couple times and continues to be one of my most requested songs.
a few fell through

I don't think it's for sale on itunes.

several artists have requested to record eventually, but no majors

When I first signed it with sony I was very excited, but the person who signed it is no longer there and I feel like no one at sony is pitching the song anymore, just my cowriters and me.

It's copublisher suggested that he needed a new demo to remind sony about the song, but we weren't eager to put up $1,500 for a new demo.

I still feel like it is one of the best songs I've ever written and I continue to hope that more people will cut it.

Hi Ande,

Had to look twice at the original date of the post [Linked Image]

Well I'm happy to say this song certainly has all the elements of a contemporary hit song. Well crafted, arrangement and performances were all there.
Simple & effective lyrics all make this a winner.
And it is flat out catchy..

The song has R&B flavor all over it. I like that!
My first reaction was to say the 1st version was the one but the second was also very good probably the more radio friendly (easier marketable) but also maybe the more common sounding. 1st version demo and opn to more artist.. the second version sounds like the artist already got it..

In the first version the ending lines right before the chorus
were not as effective melodically as in the second version.
The second version felt better going into the chorus this was the first thing I noticed that stood out to me.

This is right on par with todays comtemporary Pop/R&B music.. matter of fact it is nicer than a whole bunch of stuff I have heard that charted recently.

I could tell you what kiils me is labels will turn this down for some lame reason like "Not a breakthrough song"
"Nothing new and fresh" then that same label will put out the same style song, and be anything but new and fresh.
They have to have a personnal reason to wanna help you somehow..

Anyway,
How did you make out with it? I see you got Sony publishing where is the song at now?

Great job Ande and something to be proud of it is not easy to write songs like this no matter what anyone says or thinks..

peace
Sub
