“An excellent piece of social commentary written in an easy flowing style.” . As far as superlatives, these forums pass them back-and-forth like candy. Someone on muse wrote that my song was "possibly" the best ever uploaded to that site. I was appreciative, but completely aware that people such as you, who make comments about their own songs such as, "I love what I wrote," would not be agree with that comment. My assumption was that the person and I shared a "wavelength" regarding a certain type of love song, and in his opinion, my song might have been the best ever posted. Though flattered and appreciative, I took the comment in context. This is not a social commentary site, rather a songwriting site. It's not the political news media here. It's amateur songwriters here. The bar for social commentary is low. The comments you cite are likely coming from the like minded, not the truly informed or objective. I advise against letting it go to your head. Another comment-er once characterized a song of yours as "saccarin-ish." (sp) I took that too mean excessively and blatantly ARTIFICIALLY sweet. In Seinfeld-speak, it was dripping with "Schmoopy-Boopy" in a disingenuous manner. I agreed with that. Do those two opinions become the final assessment of your song? MOST IMPORTANTLY. In the quote above is the word "commentary." Comment-ary posted to a public forum invites commentary on the comment-ary. Opposing and otherwise. So when you put up your commentary, don't whine foul if I exercise my prerogative on this site to post my reaction to them. As for Starfish, I think that Kay-Lynn sincerely wants it to work. I hope it does for her. I think that you and your commentary are poison to any songwriting site. If I challenge your "commentary" there, it will become a toxic feature. I've no desire to spread the disease. So, enjoy having STARFISH as your little platform to express Robby's little inner world to the amateur songwriters world...without challenge. In other news, For a day or so, no one has referred to God's final damnation or called anybody a cu*t here...so you and John have the spotlight for your.... Have a good week.
