What made the site great back then was there was a hunger songwriters had. They wanted to post for good or bad, hoping for good.
They weren't all good, but they all had a desire to work on their craft.
I think one forgotten point is that theres not much opportunity for songwriters any more. Especially with ai, anyone can get a decent sounding song
