Once again, I'll throw caution to the wind and engage your comment in this forum.

"critical thinking that allows people to wade through the constant barrage of information, misinformation and brazen lies."

In the US Presidential election, there were only two choices, so critical thinking came into play when contemplating the presidency and policy outcomes and results of one candidate versus the other. They all lie. People have a tendency to trumpet the lies that validate their tribe, and dismiss the ones that don't.

If you were me and a county down on the Texas Southern Border (that had not voted for a Repub in 100 years), the presumed border outcome weighed the heaviest in the binary and only choice available. For you, another concern may have weighed heavier.
